Mary Schordock passed away peacefully July 24, 2020 in Sugar Land, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Jim. She is survived by three children – Mark Schordock of Sugar Land, Texas, Lisa (Schordock) Wersching of St. Charles, Missouri and Lora Schordock-Puchosic of Overland Park, Kansas – along with six grandchildren and her sister, Gayle Kenan and her family.
Born and raised in Lakewood, Ohio, Mary married her childhood sweetheart, Jim, and went on to raise three successful and independent children. She's lived in several cities including York, Pennsylvania, St. Louis, Missouri, Omaha, Nebraska, Scottsdale, Arizona and finally settling in Sugar Land, Texas. With each move, Mary immersed herself in the local community, volunteered for various organizations and honed her natural talent of interior decorating.
Mary had a love for life, for travel and for her family. An avid tennis player, Mary held the position of team captain for several years before hanging up her racket but not before taking her team to the championships. Over the last several years, she volunteered her time and talents to Fort Bend Friends & Neighbors and was a welcome fun-loving addition to many social groups - first with her husband, Jim, and later in life with her special friend, Marty Steed.
Mary's sweet smile, caring nature and outlook on life will be missed. In true Mary form, and out of respect for others in these uncertain times, she specifically requested that no service or memorial be held in her honor.
